Ruby Ring

It is the cinnabar mole in one’s heart. The red of the centre stone is intense and unabashedly vivid. The princess-cut diamonds on either side are set seamlessly, leaving the face of the ring smooth and level. Clear and restrained, they make the centre stone seem even more composed. The 18K gold ring shank sits on the hand with comfortable softness, yet carries an undeniable nobility. It is not the kind of jewellery that dazzles at first sight, but rather like a cloth-bound volume...

That Ruby Ring in a Century-Old Oil Painting

The red on the face of the ring is the cinnabar between the lips of the young woman in Ingres’ paintings. The hammered ring bears the texture of years of handling, like a ground layer repeatedly glazed on a canvas: rough, yet tender. Every rise and hollow holds the scent of turpentine lingering in the studio. When light falls on the ring face, it is as though one sees the lady in the painting lowering her fingers, lightly brushing the velvet dress of the 18th century...

Carved Gold and Cut Flame: Texture at Your Fingertips Ring

Mu Xin said, “Craft is the trace of beauty.” This ring uses carved-gold craftsmanship to shape the metal’s texture, allowing the gold surface to bloom into natural folds, with a ruby set among them like a flame lifted from Yeats’s lines. There is no deliberate polishing; the carving lines are allowed to grow along the bones of the metal. The roughness of cool gold and the brilliance of ruby collide, turning handcraft into...

Adults Do Not Make Choices: Yin-Yang Hotpot Ruby Ring

Craving something is a taste with a threshold. This Pigeon Blood ring puts that taste into practice. The richness of the Pigeon Blood ruby collides with the clarity of diamonds, much like the red and white broths of a yin-yang hotpot: one half blazing, one half clear. The supporting 18k gold is like the texture of the steam and heat around a hotpot. With no elaborate embellishment, it uses the clever contrast of red and white to capture the everyday warmth of the four seasons...

Stanley, Under the Dome of Fiery Radiance

Maupassant described the Grand Palais in Paris as “the glass dome lifting up the whole sweep of daylight, steel bones threaded with an artistic galaxy”. The 18k gold structure echoes the Grand Palais’ steel framework, while step-cut diamonds are arranged in classical columns, recreating the power of order and authority in architecture, like the pillars of ancient Rome bearing the justice of the city-state, shaping the authoritative outline of the ring shank; the centre emerald...

The Beauty of Ruby Is Visible to the Naked Eye Ring

The 18K gold supports the Pigeon Blood ruby, and the warm golden light spills over the setting, like afternoon sun slipping through an old wooden window frame, gently wrapping the flame-red stone. The facets of the old-cut diamonds have been polished by time; light falls into the texture of the 18K gold, then turns back towards the ruby’s heart. It is not a harsh brilliance, but a softened warmth. The softness of gold, the coolness of diamonds, the richness of red, all entwined around the finger, like an enduring...

The Long-Delayed First LV High Jewellery Ring

This spinel ring was actually the first piece of this repeatedly requested design made by Xiao Lan Lan, yet it was dragged all the way until today before being posted 😅 The reason was very simple - the photos I took back then were truly awful. They did not capture its texture at all. Once the client saw how much our photography had improved, she sent the ring back so she could get her proper portrait shot. This style is surprisingly versatile,...

Luxury in Everyday Design Ruby Ring

This time, it is still a renovation of an old residential block, beginning with the transformation of a once-forgotten luxurious ruby necklace. Before making this ring, we discussed many approaches. In the end, we chose to pay tribute to VCA, weaving vivid rubies and diamonds into a ring through craftsmanship. What was once a heavy necklace has become a ring that combines splendour with everyday wear. Every arrangement is a salute to the classic.

Wear Ruby on National Day Ring

The fire of this ring feels more like a hidden “light surprise” at your fingertips: when morning light passes through the car window and falls across the face of the ring, the ruby gives off a transparent Pigeon Blood halo, and even the instant your fingers brush the bag strap, tiny flashes of red light flicker with the movement; under the warm office lamp, the fire becomes softer, and the centre of the stone seems to hold a small sunset, while in the evening and...

The Collision of Power and Passion Ring

The Collision of Power and Passion Ring

The design combines ruby with high jewellery by LV, melting the bones of architectural aesthetics and the ruby’s rich nobility into one. The centre ruby is fiercely flame-like in colour, with nobility flowing naturally through its fire. The pavé area on either side of the diamonds directly draws on architectural influence. The diamonds are arranged geometrically, and the joining of each facet resembles the stonework of a building façade...

A little bird has alighted on your fingertips brooch

The metal ring nestles against the finger, while the little bird’s wingtip lifts gently, as though a breeze were skimming its feathers. Diamonds close their eyes like morning light, and the ruby eye holds the gleam of a distant view. Glance down and the shadow of its wing angles towards the sky—not in escape, but with the easy freedom carried by this small object. That single uplifted gesture evokes wind, open space and the relief of no longer needing to hold oneself tense.

The meaning of coloured gold, red and blue make the perfect pair earrings

The client brought out sapphire studs she had bought twenty years ago from a heart-shaped gold shop. This time we used coloured gold as the base, and set rubies around the centre stone - red and blue playing off one another, making the sapphire appear deeper and more mysterious. Looking at it now, the old gemstone carries the steadiness of time, while the coloured gold and rubies add a fresh brilliance. It is also full of personality for everyday wear, like giving an old object a vivid new story.
