At first glance, this 2020 hand-drawn sketch felt like an architectural ring: crisp lines and a fluid flow gave the impression of deconstructivism fused with high-tech style. Only when the finished piece was placed before me did I suddenly understand - this was Art Deco, a dialogue across a hundred years.
